The 14-day positivity rate for Covid-19 testing in Greene County has again crossed the 10 percent mark. Greene County public health director reports the rate at 10.1 percent as of Tuesday morning, Jan. 19.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the county is 719. There have been three new cases in the last 24 hours, five in the last three days, 24 in the last seven days, and 40 new cases in the last 14 days. Of the total, 92 are active cases.
Wolf again asked that any healthcare workers who have not received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and want to receive it call Greene County public health at 515-386-0564 to make an appointment.
She hopes to move the county into Phase 1b of Covid vaccinations by the first of February. Persons in Phase 1B include:
- Persons 75 years of older
- Individuals with disabilities living in home settings dependent on attendants for care, and their attendants
- Correctional facility staff and inmates
- Staff and individuals living in congregate settings (shelters, treatment centers, detention centers)
- Based on indications of an outbreak, individuals who work or live in congregate settings that do not allow for social distance (meatpacking or manufacturing production lines, or migrant workers who live in bunkroom-style housing)
- PK-12 school staff, early childhood education, and childcare workers who work with younger and at-risk children
- First responders (firefighters, law enforcement, dependent adult abuse and child welfare social workers)
- Inspectors responsible for health, life and safety (hospitals, long-term care settings, childcare and food production)
- Governmental officials and staff engaged in state business at the Iowa Capitol during legislative session
